About SA Powerball

Powerball is South Africa’s biggest-jackpot game, run by Sizekhaya as part of the National Lottery since 1 June 2026 — a different game from the American Powerball. Draws are held every Tuesday and Friday evening. Five numbers from 1 to 50 and one Powerball from 1 to 16 are drawn.

Powerball XTRA (Powerball Plus until June 2026) is an optional add-on with its own draw and jackpot, shown under the main result above.

When is the SA Powerball draw?

Every Tuesday and Friday evening, with Powerball XTRA drawn the same night.

What happened to Powerball Plus?

It was renamed Powerball XTRA in June 2026. It works like the main draw, with a “Jackpot Cascade”: if nobody wins the XTRA jackpot in the last draw of the month, it goes to the next prize division.

What are the odds of winning the SA Powerball jackpot?

1 in 33,900,160 since the Powerball range was cut from 1–20 to 1–16 in June 2026. Matching the Powerball on its own wins a prize, at 1 in 28.
