About SA Lotto
Lotto is the main game of South Africa’s National Lottery, which has been run by Sizekhaya since 1 June 2026 (Ithuba ran it for the eleven years before). Draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday evening.
How to play SA Lotto
Pick six numbers from 1 to 52. Six main numbers and a Bonus Ball are drawn; match all six to win the jackpot, which rolls over when nobody wins it. The Bonus Ball counts towards the other prize divisions. Until June 2026 the numbers ran from 1 to 58.
Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max
For a little extra per board, your Lotto numbers also go into Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto 5 Max (called Lotto Plus 2 until June 2026). Each is a separate draw with its own numbers and jackpot. Lotto 5 Max has a “Jackpot Cascade”: if nobody wins its jackpot in the last draw of the month, it goes to the next prize division.

The odds of matching all six numbers are 1 in 20,358,520. Matching five numbers plus the Bonus Ball is 1 in 3,393,087, and the smallest prize — two numbers plus the Bonus Ball — is 1 in 96.
