Why Bet on El Gordo?
Spain’s annual Christmas raffle, El Gordo, is the biggest lottery event of the holiday season. With an extraordinary prize pool of over €2 billion and overall odds better than 1 in 6.5, bet on the world’s richest lottery this holiday season.
What is a Decima?
Because the cost of a full El Gordo ticket is quite high, each ticket is divided into ten parts, or “decimas”.
You can bet on a decima for a share of that prize tier. For instance, if your numbers come up, and you have purchased one decima, you will win 1/10th of the prize for that tier.
How does the El Gordo draw work?
On the day of the draw, each 5-digit ticket number and each prize tier are printed on separate balls, placed in 2 drums, and drawn to match a number with a prize.
There are 17 incredible prize categories and thousands of winning combinations. The top prize tier has an approximate payout of €4 million!
Tell me about El Gordo History
El Gordo can be traced all the way back to 1812 and gets its nickname (“the fat one”) as a reference to the huge amount of prize money distributed each year. Fun fact: the winning numbers are usually sung aloud by a chorus of school children from the Colegio de Educación Infantil y Primaria San Ildefonso as a long-standing tradition!
How does Online Lottery Betting work?
Instead of buying an actual El Gordo ticket, you will bet on a preselected El Gordo raffle ticket number. You will still receive the prize won by that ticket number – including the El Gordo First Prize – as if you had bought the ticket!
